“Memories of Velvet Roof” is the third novel I read simply by Anna Puck. This time, I did not have to choose a female impression on this story because it was clearly created for a men perspective. I just liked the descriptions of Vorkovia, specifically its cobbled streets plus the knowledge that the majority of people have come to understand it as being a city in transition. Puck’s character, Alexey, was interesting, voronezh women funny and practical; and I esteemed her decision to write regarding the place rather than focus on the life span of Alexey alone.
The story depends on Alexey, at this point settled in Vorkovia, functioning as a driver for a tour bus service. A lady he fulfilled in school, Olga, calls him one day and invites him to meet her for meal. After a quick and delicious lunch time, both get to know the other person better and exchange gifts. Things progress from there, till a girl requests Alexey being her boyfriend, and they both go to a prom together.
The environment of this narrative is very pleasant. This starts out in the typical cities of Vorkovia near St Petersburg. They will walk one or two blocks to a new building constructed in an ancient church and spend the rest of the evening enjoying the sights, smells, and emotions of the city. The next morning, because Anna is certainly leaving, your lover spots some kind of commotion in the entrance for the park that catches her attention.
A desolate vagabond is usually living in the park. Anna approaches the homeless vagabond and requires him as to why he has got chosen to are in that particular place. He tells her the girl he lives with, Olga, uses her benefits to give just for food, lodging and her daily new driver back and forth to varsity. In return, the vagabond will not let Olga use his benefits, including helping out at the destitute shelter.
